Larry E. Carmichael, 83, of Brownstown, went into his Savior’s arms at 6:08 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2022. He loved the Lord with all his heart. His goal in life was to reach as many people as he could and bring them to the Lord. He read and studied his bible every day. He was God’s “good and faithful servant.” He loved being with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Larry was born on June 21, 1939, in Freetown, IN to the late Earl & Thelma (Scott) Carmichael. He was a graduate of Freetown High School. He married the love his life, Judy L. Corrington Carmichael on November 27, 1959, at the Brownstown Baptist Church.
Larry was a past member of First Baptist Church, Seymour, and a current member of Brownstown First Baptist Church. He was a very active member and Sunday School teacher of both churches for many years. He worked in the Insurance business for many years and was the owner of Carmichael Insurance for 21 years.
Survivors include: 3 children, Kathy (Mike) Nichols, Daniel (Dee) Carmichael, & David (Suzanne) Carmichael; 3 sisters: Kaye Sullivan, Phyllis Chasteen, & Janey Bowman; grandchildren: Katie (Scott) Volk, Christy (Nathan) Tormoehlen, Justin (Alisha) Nichols, Alexandra (Corey) Zaring, Jacob Carmichael, Hannah (Logan) Valentine, Matthew (Sue) Carmichael, Wesley (Emily) Carmichael, Hannah Carmichael, Bethany Carmichael, Nathan Carmichael, Chloe Carmichael, Caleb Carmichael, & Micah Carmichael; great grandchildren: Finley & Claire Volk, Emalee Goss, Tyler Tormoehlen, Connor, Elizabeth, Abigail & Charlotte Nichols, Mila, Owen & Leo Carmichael, Charlie, Cooper, & Carter Zaring, & Parker Valentine.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and sisters: Carole Fleetwood & Sharon Ison.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Brownstown First Baptist Church with Darrin Wan officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at Christiansburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Brownstown First Baptist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
