700 years before Christ was born as a baby in Bethlehem, the prophet Isaiah announced His birth to the world. In the 9th chapter of Isaiah, we see a very familiar passage that uses four names and titles for Jesus relating to His being born as the Christ-child.
This year, as we enter the season of Advent and prepare again to return to the birth of the Messiah, we look at these four names and titles for Jesus and see not only how they related to the prophetic writings of Isaiah, but also to how they set Jesus apart as the Son of God and the only hope for the eternal salvation of the world.
